2 Chainz has really come a long way. From being known as only Ludacris's background guy to making "Duffle Bag Boy" with Playas Circle back 2007 to finally being recognized for what he does. People always try to shit on him, but I think he has talent (He killed shit in the BET Cypher this year). Maybe it's my Atlanta roots. I'm not the only person that has this thought though. T.I listed him as the artist to look out for in Atlanta. His growing buzz has led up to his new mixtape "T.R.U. REALIGION", and it's good as hell man. Say what you want about Mac Miller,you can't deny that he makes good music. To celebrate gaining 1 million followers on Twitter, Mac decided to throw together a new tape. "I Love Life, Thank You" is full of killer songs and is great for the fans that are waiting for "Blue Slide Park" in November. The production is on another level of dope, and it sounds like Mac has found his niche for what he wants musically. Mixtape Madness: Travis Porter- I'm A Differenter 3

TRAVEEEEEEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! It's just something about Travis Porter that I love musically! Maybe it's the fact that it's just fun music and not meant to be taken seriously. It's somewhat harmless. Anywho, Travis Porter's back with their third installment of their "I'm A Differenter" series. When you go back and listen to the first two tapes, and then listen to the third, you realize the growth and backtracking in it. The good thing is they have better rhymes and some more hard hitting beats. They also have more high-profile features (Wale, Big Sean, Lloyd, Meek Mill, YG, Kelly Rowland). The bad thing is their music is starting to sound the same as far as content. The message of getting hoes and money may be starting to run thin for me, and now it's starting to come off a little boring. I like the tape, but I don't see me playing this on a regular basis in two months. On another note, the artwork is killer! They still are strong in that department too.

Mixtape Madness: Domo Genesis- Under The Influence

In comparison to the rest of OFWGKTA, Domo Genesis can be considered unique. While the other members of OF like Tyler, The Creater, Mellowhype, and Earl Sweatshirt are associated with violence and rape, Domo is mostly known for his vibey and chill rhymes about marijuana. "Under The Influence" is a tapefull of the Odd Future member's favorite beats, as well as some new ones. We get the typical Domo topic of weed, but he has some pretty fly and cool rhymes on his first mixtape. Some of the material has been previously released, but that doesn't take away from the fact that this is still a pretty nice project.

Ahh peep the meaning of the album title. "laughs". Cyhi The Prynce is back just two months after his "Royal Flush II" mixtape with Jack Of All Trades. Instead of making the album-formatted mixtape like his "Royal Flush" series, Cyhi decided to do some jacking for beats and rhyme over some old and new bangers. It's a pretty good listen if you just really wanted some nice bars.

I swear that Lil B is pulling a straight okey doke on everybody. All that dumb and off rhyming is just a ploy to pull you into his shit. He's proved it so many times with his recent music. Look at "Illusions of Grandeur" tape and his "I'm Gay" album. You can't deny that both of them proved to be some pretty solid material. I guess that preachy ass opening was leading in to the fact that Based God has just dropped a new tape called "I Forgive You". This tape is a good mixture of his random, dumb rhymes and thought out more lyrical projects. If you're not a fan of Lil B, you won't like it. If you are, here's your Based God fix. It's good to see him stay busy, seeing as "I'm Gay" dropped a month or two ago.

Mixtape Madness: Big K.R.I.T- Last King 2: God's Machine

Honestly, I don't even consider most of Big K.R.I.T's mixtapes as such. They're more like free albums. Krizzle is back with the DJ Wally Sparks-hosted "Last King 2: God's Machine". Despite the fact that many of the tracks are pre-released songs, and that I HATE dj-hosted mixtapes, it's an ill tape nevertheless. I'd be so lying if I said that I'm not geeked for the release of "Live From The Underground". It drops on September 27th.

Wale's transition from a conscious lyricist to an arrogant rapper that stunts has had its mixed reactions. Hey, even though it sucks, you can't front on the fact that Wale is way bigger than he was before he got with Rick Ross and Maybach Music. Now with his second album "Amition", set to be released on November 1st, Wale has dropped "The Eleven One Eleven Theory" mixtape to promote it (peep the mixtape name and the album date). Out of the songs that I've heard so far (yeah I haven't bumped all of it yet), he does a pretty nice job of balancing the conscious rhymes with the ignorant shit.

Meek Mill has really come out of nowhere and made some serious noise this year. That can definitely be attributed to his signing to Maybach Music Group, and his memorable verses on "Pandemonium", "Tupac Back", and "Ima Boss". Now the Philly rapper has dropped his first official solo project on the label, the "Dreamchasers" mixtape. The DJ Drama-hosted tape has some features from Yo Gotti, Rick Ross, Young Chris, and, Beanie Sigel. MMG is totally winning man.

Mixtape Madness: Alley Boy- Definition Of Fuck Shit

Many people didn't think much of Alley Boy until the infamous Yung La beating was released to the world. Before that, he was just  another up-and-coming rapper, so I guess you can say that video has helped to get some momentum under the Duct Tape Ent. movement. A few months later, we're given the second entry in the "Definition Of Fuck Shit" mixtape series, and I must say, It's pretty good. Some nice rhymes, as well as some features from Young Jeezy, Yo Gotti, and Jim Jones ensure a very potential-worthy project.

Mixtape Madness: Pill- The Diagnosis

P I double L is back a year after "The Overdose" with "The Diagnosis". Personally, I've always admired his ability to be street, but still have a message in many of his records. The only problem that I still find in his music is his lack of ability to find his own sound and niche so he can stand out from the rest. I still give him points for being a fellow ATLien, "laughs". Anyway, with the way that Maybach Music Group is winning these days, I wouldn't be surprised if this tape fell far from that tree of success.
